SINOMA International, a Chinese company, disclosed that it would like to explore investment opportunities in Ethiopia during a discussion with Ethiopia’s Ambassador to China, Tefera Derbew. The company is keen to engage in cement manufacturing in the country.

SINOMA International Engineering is a Chinese company and one of the world’s largest cement technology equipment engineering system integration service providers. It plans to construct a state-of-the-art factory in Ethiopia which will be equipped with modern technologies to prevent climate change.

It is to be recalled that the company signed an agreement with Derba MIDROC Cement in November last year to work on the expansion project of Derba Cement Factory. The agreement with Derba is expected to increase the daily production capacity of the factory to 150,000 quintals by enabling the factory to produce 80,000 additional quintals of cement to what it is currently producing.
