Dashen Bank achieved a net profit of Birr 6.4 billion in the past fiscal year, as reported during the 31st regular and 26th Iemergency meeting of shareholders held on October 15, 2024, at the Millennium Hall.
In his opening speech, Dashen Bank's Chairman of the Board, Mr. Dula Mekonen, mentioned that the bank's deposit increased by Birr 30.9 billion in the last fiscal year bringing the total to Birr 145.9 billion. He further reported that the contribution of the interest-free banking service sector to the bank's deposit amount was Birr 11.1 billion. Moreover, Dashen Bank's assets reached Birr 183.7 billion in the last financial year, with a growth of 27%.
The bank welcomed 1.44 million new customers during the same financial year, expanding its customer base to over 6.7 million. Mr. Dula also acknowledged that Ethiotelecom, through "Telebirr," and Safaricom, through "M-Pesa," posed high competition in the field of mobile banking services.
