A company that assembles electric cars will begin operation in Debre Birhan after three months. The car assembly company, which is owned by Belayneh Kinde, will assemble one thousand cars annually once it becomes fully operational. It is also expected to create employment opportunities for 500 individuals.
In related news, Debre Birhan inaugurated a textile company named Zema Textile Factory yesterday which was built at a cost of Birr 1 billion. Zema has employed 300 people while creating indirect employment opportunities for 3000 individuals.
Debre Birhan is currently hosting 550 investments that have a collective capital of Birr 80 billion. The city plans to attract and license 330 investors in the 2022/2023 fiscal year. It has succeeded in attracting 120 investors and a capital of Birr 15 billion during the first quarter of the fiscal year alone.
