DMC Trading PLC hired China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) for the construction of a mixed use building in Addis Ababa which includes a five star hotel, mall, and an apartment. The two companies signed an agreement today for the realization of the Birr 14.2 billion project which is expected to be completed within 4 years. It will also create jobs for many and contribute to the growth of the tourism sector.

A 2022 study conducted by W Hospitality Group discovered that there were 29 hotel projects in the pipeline in Ethiopia with a total of 5,206 rooms.

CCECC has been a major contractor in Ethiopia and built several top projects of the country. It constructed the Hawassa Industrial Park after it secured a USD 246 million deal in 2015. The construction company also built Bahir Dar Industrial Park and participated in several road projects. It is currently building its own industrial park in Dire Dawa.
