Addis Ababa City Administration has announced that it has collected over 5.8 billion birr (close to $130 million) in the first month of the new Ethiopian fiscal year which started on July 8, 2021. The amount exceeds the target of 5.39 billion birr set as a target for collection by eight percent.
Mulugeta Teferra, Head of the Addis Ababa City Administration Revenues Bureau, pointed out that the amount has shown an increase of close to 1.13 billion birr compared to the same period last year, which is a 24 percent increase.
Mr. Mulugeta has recalled the city administration has collected over 42.6 billion birr in the recently concluded fiscal year, which is the highest compared to the previous eight years.
