The Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Industry announced that Ethiopia will take part in the upcoming Dubai Expo. At the event, the ministry stated, Ethiopia will show its economic potential to the world exhibiting its trade, tourism, and investment potentials.
This year's edition of Dubai Expo, Dubai Expo 2020, will be held from October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022. It was originally planned to be held from October 10, 2020, to April 10, 2021, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Ethiopia had originally planned to take part at the Dubai Expo 2020, with an aim of attracting over 750,000 visitors.
Misganu Arega, State Minister of Trade and Industry, said Ethiopia will involve the diaspora, the private sector, as well as regions of the country and cultural ambassadors to promote its investment, trade, and tourism opportunities on the platform. Furthermore, the expo will enable Ethiopia to exhibit its cultural assets, along with its economic potential, the state minister added.
Countries will take part in the categories of Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability in the expo. Ethiopia's theme for the event is "Land of Origins and Opportunities", Mr. Misganu related.
