The Gorgora Project, which is part of the Dine for Ethiopia initiative, has been launched in the presence of Ethiopia's Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister.

The Gorgora Project will "serve as a hub for the development of Gondar and Bahir Dar," PM Abiy said in a tweet. In his tweet, the PM also highlighted the site holds "immense tourism, agro-processing and manufacturing potential.

The Dine for Ethiopia initiative, launched in August last year, aims to fund three projects at Gorgora, Wonchi and Koysha in Ethiopia. Enhancing the three locations, it aims to help boost the country's tourism potential.

The Dine for Ethiopia initiative is an outgrowth of the Dine for Sheger initiative which kickstarted in the capital Addis Ababa to beautify riversides. 

The Dine for Ethiopia initiative has so far raised over 4.2 billion birr to fund the three projects.
