Mexico is looking forward to enhancing its bilateral ties with Ethiopia, especially in the sectors of trade, tourism, and aviation, Victor M. Trevino, Mexico’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, said.
Ethiopia and Mexico have deep-rooted and long-standing relations in multifaceted spheres and achieved common history, Ambassador Trevino said in an interview with ENA.
Pointing out that the two countries marked 70 years since they started diplomatic relations on November 1, 2019, he said "Ethiopia is a very important country" to Mexico. He said Mexico will "continue working together in terms of enhancing relations in trade and tourism.”
The ambassador mentioned the fact that Ethiopian holds cargo flights to Mexico as an encouragement for boosting the trade ties between the two countries, as they have "more connectivity [fore] more trade relations."
Moreover, the ambassador reaffirmed that Mexico will continue its supporting tourism development endeavors in Ethiopia.
Ethiopia is the first African country to establish diplomatic relations with Mexico, back in 1949.
