China's construction giant, the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), is to build its own industrial park in Ethiopia's Dire Dawa city.

Inking the agreement for the construction of the industry park were Ahmed Buh, deputy mayor of the city of Dire Dawa, and the CEO of CCECC.

The first phase of the industrial park will rest on 370 hectares of land. As it progresses, it will incorporate more land to reach a total of a thousand hectares, on the outskirts of Dire Dawa, in the area of Melka Jebdu. 

The industrial park aims to attract investors from the southern Chinese investment city of Kunshan.

The construction of the industrial park will begin "soon," it was learned. 

Mr. Ahmed called on residents of the area and pertinent government officials to contribute their part for the success of the functions of the industrial park.
