In a move to begin the construction of the 70-story Mesob Tower, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed.
Signing the MoU at Skylight Hotel were Hirut Kassaw (Ph.D.), Ethiopian Minister of Culture and Tourism, and the architects who designed the tower.
“The design of Mesob Tower is unique and reflects our culture. It is our brand,” Dr. Hirut said on the occasion. She further pointed out the whole of Ethiopia needs to exert a concerted effort to provide the required finances and share ideas, for the project to succeed.
The 250-meter high Mesob Tower, the total cost of which is estimated to be over $681 million (20 billion birr), will rest on 20,000 square meters of land and will have hotels, shopping malls, a cultural center representative of all regions of Ethiopia, a gym and a golf club, among other things.
