Dangote Group, one of the multinational companies investing in Ethiopia, disclosed it is planning to diversify its investments in Ethiopia. According to Aliko Dangote, Owner and CEO of the Group, his company is ready to invest in packaging and sugar production. The business tycoon disclosed his plan during his visit and meeting with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Hailemariam Dessalegn.
Dangote Cement has been importing cement bags for its products, the business tycoon explained. In the aim of substituting the import, the Group would establish a huge packaging facility in few months time, he added.
“We are also looking at the possibility of looking at other areas, sugar and others mainly agriculture, which we now discussed with government to move forward,” Dangote added.
Dangote also took the chance to affirm his company commitment to continue investing in Ethiopia.
Hailemariam on his part assured the owner and CEO of the Group that his government is fully committed to support the Group in the efforts to diversify investment.
